Dr. Karina Hoan, MD, FACOG

Dr. Karina Hoan joins New Hope Fertility Center as the Director of Minimally Invasive Gynecological and Reproductive Surgery. She completed a fellowship in Minimally Invasive Surgery at Mount Sinai hospital and has extensive experience with hysteroscopy, laparoscopy, and robotic surgery. Her focus is on endometriosis, uterine fibroids, ovarian masses, dilated fallopian tubes, and uterine septum. She believes in using the least invasive surgical approach that allows a woman to achieve her fertility goals. She is Board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG) and is well published in leading Gynecological journals.

Dr. Hoan attained her Bachelor Degree from California Polytechnic State University and Medical Degree from Ross University. She completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Danbury Hospital in Connecticut after which she did a two-year Minimally Invasive Gynecology fellowship at Mount Sinai hospital in New York City. During her training, she conducted two major laparoscopic studies, presented her research in national and international meeting, and published several medical manuscripts in very high-impact journals.

Dr. Hoan is a faculty at Mount Sinai hospital and is an active member of the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) and the American Association of Laparoscopic Surgeons (AAGL). She is very passionate about helping women reach their fertility goals. When surgical treatment is necessary, she is committed to offering the least invasive approach with the least amount of pain and a fast recovery.

In her spare time, Dr. Hoan is an avid Yogi, runner, and swimmer. She was born in California and currently resides in Brooklyn New York, with her husband and son. In addition to English, she is fluent in Spanish.
